About Robbie

As Head of International Property for Probitas 1492, Robbie works closely with Chief Underwriting Officer, Jon Foley, and leads the rest of the International Property team to deliver their robust underwriting strategy across the globe. Together with his team, Robbie has built up a portfolio that is made up of commercial property located in all regions outside of the UK and Europe (which is underwritten Mark Pearce and his team) and includes businesses from a variety of sectors from hospitality to heavy industrial operations.

Liaising with the Latin American Property team, based in Mexico City, Robbie maintains an aligned proposition for a consistent approach to underwriting – an approach that has served the business well since the Mexico office opened in 2017.

The culture Robbie has helped to cement within the International Property team sees the Underwriters working closely with the Analytics and CAT modelling teams to ensure that risks are evaluated and priced accordingly – an approach that we consider to be in the DNA of Probitas.

Robbie began his career in 2001 on the broking side, with Marsh. He moved to Aon Benfield and then BMS Group in broking roles, before moving to the Property Underwriting team at Atrium Syndicate 609 in 2012. At Atrium he was responsible for underwriting a global property and energy portfolio.

Joining Probitas in 2016, Robbie is a key member of the team and works cohesively to help foster an inclusive and dynamic team. He spends time with the Assistant Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants sharing his knowledge and experience to enhance their own careers.
