About Mark

Mark is Head of UK & European Property, leading the teams’ approach to underwriting and focusing on providing an A-class service to brokers and policyholders.

Mark has built a book of business strategically and diligently, with an appetite for insureds who understand their exposures and are keen to work with their insurer to manage them to the best of their ability. Initially focused on the UK and Ireland, he took over the European portfolio in November 2018 and successfully prepared the business for Brexit.

He works closely with Richard Beaumont and the UK Casualty team to align on cross-class business and package solutions that provide added value to the policyholder.

Mark’s career began in 2000 at Royal & SunAlliance. As a Graduate Business Management Trainee, he gained experience in the Personal, Life and Commercial divisions. He went on to complete a 6 month international underwriting scholarship in Germany, sponsored by Munich Re.

His underwriting experience has included roles within Corporate, Property Owners, and Risk Managed teams of R&SA. In 2007, he joined QBE, where he lead the development of a portfolio in London and the South East region of QBE National division.

In 2016, Mark joined Probitas 1492 and has played an instrumental role in establishing the syndicate as a respected player in the UK and European market. He is generous with his time, sharing his knowledge and experience enabling others to further their own careers.
