Probitas 1492 Extends Casualty Team with the appointment of James Cowen

Probitas 1492 announced today James Cowen has joined the Casualty team as International General Liability Senior Underwriter.

James joins from CFC, where he was responsible for the group’s International Casualty portfolio. He brings significant experience in the International Liability area both from an underwriting and broking perspective

Neila Buurman, Chief Underwriting Officer for Casualty at Probitas 1492 says “We are delighted that James has joined Probitas 1492.  His experience, both broking and underwriting, further enhances our International Casualty offering and ensure that the high levels of service we provide our brokers and clients continues.”

James, who will report into Neila Buurman, will work with Stuart Hollins, International GL Underwriter, to further strengthen Probitas’ underwriting capabilities in this key area of business.

About James Cowen
James has over 14 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Having started his career with HMA, a small Lloyd’s brokers, he joined Miller Group on their PA binder team. Joining Gallagher’s in 2006, he was promoted to Associate Director, where he handled business from an assortment of territories. He managed both Open Market business and Facilities also acting as Coverholder. He joined CFC in 2013, where he rose from an underwriting role through to a portfolio management position.
