Probitas 1492 appoints General Counsel

Probitas 1492 continues to reinforce its growth plans and commitment to excellence in handling complex Financial Lines claims with the appointment of Lindsay McQuillian, as General Counsel. Prior to this appointment, Lindsay was Partner of Mayer Brown’s Insurance and Reinsurance Practice.

With her extensive experience in Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity and General Liability, Lindsay will lead the Financial Lines claims proposition, further strengthening Probitas as specialists in this area of business.

With over 18 years’ experience in the insurance market, she has extensive experience in the fields of professional indemnity, financial institutions, reinsurance and general liability – including many complex, high-profile and contentious disputes. From a professional indemnity perspective, she has focused on defending claims against various professionals including solicitors, brokers, investment advisers, management consultants and offshore professionals.

Lindsay is a market leader in EU/UK sanctions, having been at the forefront of educating the insurance market on its sanctions-related responsibilities, offering guidance from an underwriting and claims perspective on ways to avoid falling foul of the relevant sanctions regimes.
