Yves is our Brussels based, BeNeLux oriented, Financial Lines & Cyber Underwriter for Probitas 1492 Europe. He mixes a passion for underwriting with a will to start up, develop and expand the activity he’s working on, and also always looking for profitable opportunities in it.

Active in underwriting and risk management since 1985, he knows the BeNeLux market from both an insurer and insurance broker perspective as well as bringing experience from a General Underwriting Agency, as Secretary for Ibis and Underwriting Manager for AA/MSIG. With a broad spectrum for experince he is able to adapt to any situation. His experience includes, General Liability and PI Underwriter for Royale Belge (now Axa), Engineering Manager for Winterthur, Underwriting Manager for Aioi (Toyota Group Insurance Company), Cyber PI GTPL and D&O Underwriting Manager for Allianz.

With a Masters in Economics degree, together with his professional experience he brings a wealth of knowledge in order to bring the Lloyd’s insurance market to Europe.

Multilingual and multicultural (Belgian, he is born in Portugal) Yves speaks four languages, French, Dutch, English and Portuguese.
