About Roberto

Roberto’s role as LatAm Property Underwriter, sees him working closely with Mauricio Morales and Enrique Morales in the Mexico City office, as well as integrating with the Property underwriting team in London.

With a disciplined focus on underwriting risks in Latin America, Roberto applies his local knowledge and experience for risk selection and developing relationships in the market. He is responsible for the growth of the Property portfolio in the region and is fully aligned with both Probitas and Lloyd’s quality standards.

His underwriting experience across the Latin American region and his technical skills enables Roberto to provide coaching and team integration both in Mexico and London. With the long-term objective of building a profitable portfolio.

Starting his career in insurance as a risk engineer, Roberto has also worked as Senior Property Underwriter at Aseguradora Mexicana (now Axa). Moving on to Facultative reinsurance with Hannover Re and Odyssey Re out of their Mexico hubs looking after the whole LatAm region, underwriting Property, Construction and Contractors’ Equipment. He moved onto Willis, as Sub-director for Property Fac and then a short stint with the treaty team, before joining Probitas, as a founding team member and Head of the Mexico office.

Roberto has a degree in Industrial Engineering from IPN (Instituto Politecnico Nacional)
