Mel’s career in the insurance industry comprises diverse roles, with a depth of experience across nearly all non-marine lines of business globally. Alongside an executive career, variously as a broker, underwriter, Lloyd’s managing agency executive director, Active Underwriter and central Lloyd’s market role Mel has been a highly respected consultant for 20 years undertaking a variety of international advisory roles across a range of jurisdictions.
An experienced, engaged and well-connected Board member, Mel prioritises professionalism, integrity and delivering high standards – so is well aligned to Probitas’ vision and values. Having such a wide range of Board and executive experience, she demonstrates an independent, naturally-enquiring, forward-thinking mind. Mel was the first woman to be appointed as Active Underwriter of a Lloyd’s syndicate, so provides career inspiration to her colleagues at Probitas.
