About James

As Underwriter for International Liability at Probitas 1492, James works with Alastair Herbert and Stuart Hollins to underwrite public liability, products liability, employers liability and pollution liability (S&A) cover across the globe – although not stand-alone business in the USA.

His experience in the insurance industry enhances the team’s wealth of knowledge and experience in leading large complex risks and portfolio, as well as participating as a co-insurer. The team underwrites a vast array of businesses in varying industry sectors including Manufacturing and Distribution, Rail, Utilities and Power, Hospitality, Onshore Energy, Mining, and Contractors

The International General Liability team underwrite SME and large multinational business across a diverse range of industries on both a primary and excess of loss basis.

James started his career as a Lloyd’s broker, before joining Miller on their programs and facilities team. Moving to AJ Gallagher in 2006, he handled business from an assortment of territories, managing both open market and facilities as well as acting as coverholder. In 2013, he moved to CFC as General Liability underwriter and become team leader, managing the US and International portfolio.

James is ACII qualified.
